National Postal Mail Handlers Union, located in Jersey City, N.J., represents mail handlers at one of the largest postal facilities in the world. More than 1,100 mail handlers work at the facility that is one of the biggest employers in Hudson County, N.J. The facility processes domestic, military and international mail and uses trailers to send processed parcels. The plant has a more than 2 million-square-foot workroom floor with three sack-sorting machines and seven parcel-sorting machines. In addition, it has small parcel and bundle machines and nonmachinable belts.
