Posen Architects transformed an outdated 12-bed unit at Saint Clare’s Denville Hospital Critical Care Unit (CCU) by introducing natural materials and more daylight and by improving the staff area layout. Pastel headwalls and tired finishes were replaced with glass wall fronts, sliding doors, light wood-like flooring, new millwork, and ceilings that provide multiple lighting options and improved acoustics. Reconfiguration of the central nursing station improved sight lines and access and introduced abundant natural light in work areas. The project was accomplished with limited utility changes under stringent regulatory requirements. Carpeting
Posen Architects designed a 33,250 sf renovation for Miami International Holdings (MIAX) in Princeton, NJ. The design accommodated MIAX’s growth and better utilized existing space. An exciting entry experience was created with the acquisition of first floor space directly off the two-story atrium lobby. The elegant, contemporary aesthetics embody MIAX’s branding and are consistent with its Miami location: light woods, marble flooring and blue-patterned carpeting. A dramatic, blown glass chandelier in the reception area, also a nod to the Miami office, provides a dramatic focal point.

New Construction
The new construction provides the operator, Argus Community, Inc. (Argus), the opportunity to co-locate two smaller, previously separate intensive inpatient residential programs into an efficient, modern facility and to expand their outpatient capacity. Posen Architects provided programming, space planning, interior design, architectural, and expediting services for the project.

Patios
The L-shaped building is set back from the interchange with parking located between the building and the highway. The entry is located at the hinge point of the two building wings. Ground floor amenities include a Community Room and Fitness Room, both with outdoor patios. Other tenant features include office centers on the upper floors. Apartments will be equipped with washer and dryer hookups and there will also be communal laundry rooms on each floor.
Siding
The building is sheathed in four (4) warm-tone colors of pre-finished plank siding to resemble residential clapboard. This serves to animate the facades, thereby creating interest and breaking down the mass of the large structure. Brick is utilized at the base for both its aesthetic characteristics and durability. Back-lit, large, graphic building signage is employed to identify the facility from the surrounding highways.
