My restaurant of choice in Tappahannock, and my favorite Mexican restaurant anywhere, above even the likes of Anitas, Tia's, Carlos O'Kelleys, Chipotle, and Baja Fresh, all things considered. Everything from their menu is delicious. Dirt cheap, especially for lunch and a la carte. They always give you chips and salsa to start out with, which, by the way, when they bring them out, ask for the "white sauce". I have no idea what it is, but it's delicious and you will be glad you tried it. The service is great too, the staff is friendly, on the ball, and the food is ready pretty quickly. The restaurant might not look like much from the outside being that it used to be a Hardees, but don't let that fool you; Los Portales has the best quality Mexican faire for it's price, and the atmosphere isn't bad either. This is where I take my out-of-town friends out to eat if they're up for Mexican food, and so far all of them have liked it.
