Strong Hearts Cafe

This is an excellent vegan/vegetarian place. I'm neither, and I still find their food delicious. They have a list of 30 or so vegan "milk" shakes that are rich and thick and taste better than a lot of dairy-based milkshakes. The staff is really laid back but helpful, and they often have alternative press and events fliers that don't really find an audience elsewhere. However, they aren't stuck up about it. They present it as information for the community and let you decide to take it or leave it. In fact, I don't think they'd care if I rolled in with a huge, greasy cheeseburger dripping with bacon and all sorts of other deliciousness. They aren't going to force their politics on you. It's just about good food, coffee, and organic sodas/juices. It is a little expensive at about $7 for a sandwich, but it's filling, and you know the ingredients are good.It's located in an old office building, so it's also got great atmosphere for reading, chatting, or just hanging out.
