Overall

I called Curltopia yesterday to book an appointment for next week for my college graduation. Despite their website stating that they accept appointments on Tuesdays from 8:30 am to 1 pm, I was told that I could not book an appointment because they were closed. After pointing out their website states that they do hair on appointments only on Tuesdays, I asked why they were closed. Julia told me that the shop doesn't book enough appointments on Tuesday so they won't do my hair. I mentioned that many salons will take an appointment in extreme circumstances like this- a college graduation. Julia literally told me that some of the hair stylists may not want to come in so she could not grant me an appointment. One appointment is better than no appointments. I am still a willing, paying customer. Julia attempted what she thought was a compromise and asked if I wanted to come in today... Graduation is December 16th. Today is the 10th. That style will be almost a week old. I've referred people to Curltopia and have even taken my best friend to Curltopia to get her big chop. Never again. Graduation is a big deal. If you refuse to open your doors to a first generation college graduate on a day your website says that you take appointments, you do not deserve our money. The BBB will be informed and every social media outlet that supports you as well.

UPDATE: Co-owner Trish called me back. She is EXTREMELY rude. She said that although you are informed when leaving a message that you can make appointments for Tuesdays and that their website says the same, the information is inaccurate. She told me to "just go somewhere else" to get my hair done. When I let her know that I had also informed the BBB, she insulted me by saying, "oh, that's what you have time to do, huh?" No wonder they don't have appointments- their business ethic and customer services SUCKS.

Satisfied customer

I am so happy there is a Salon who is really into NATURAL HAIR. Nova was great and seems to care for her customer, and very patient unlike most stylists. No pressure to walk out not satisfied

Tas knows transitioning hair

He has now become my stylist, for good. It's been nearly impossible to find someone to help me with my transitioning hair. Actually, I've had other stylists try to get me to continue staightening my hair and discourage the natural look, convinincing me it's not the thing to do. Tas really gets it. I've had everyone complement my hair. Every curly-haired friend, acquaintance, even strangers ask where I get my hair done. I've referred several people and all of them are as happy as I am with the results. Not only does he give a great cut, but his product recommendations have been absolutely right on. As we all know ladies, natural hair is all about maintenance and Tas was right on the money as far as what I have to do at home. Tas was not shy to say that he wants my hair to look good when I walk out of the salon and everyday after that, he wants people asking me who does my hair, and that's exactly how it been. He taught me step by step what to do at home and I am loving my hair. It's amazing, but I can't remember the last time I had a truly bad hair day. A visit to Tas is well worth every penny! He's kind, down to earth, knows curly hair, and the salon is beautiful. A true pleasure! Do not hesitate to call.
