Took my husband for 4 knee injections. Our appointment was for 3:10 and we were on our way home by 3:45. Never waited more that 10-15 minutes. Wonderful staff and doctors.Extremely organized and caring. This is a brand new hospital in Sewell and everything is clean, and comfortable. They have thought of everything to make visits timely and professional. We wouldn't think of going anywhere else.

Overall

I have had the WORST experience at The Rothman Institute in Sewell, NJ. From the very first moment I stepped into the office, I had a bad feeling. I wasted 2 1/2 months of my life dealing with these people. I saw a physician’s assistant first (at the advice of the person who answered my phone call to schedule my appointment) who wanted me to go to physical therapy. He did not seem very knowledgeable, but I decided to take his advice and see what happens. I saw a physical therapist for 5 weeks with no improvement whatsoever. I would be at each PT appointment with 3 or 4 other people and wasted most of the session waiting for direction while the therapist and her staff watched the Ellen Show on the TV in the therapy room, between jumping from person to person. They clearly overbooked themselves. I then saw a physician who told me I had tight muscles and to take some muscle relaxers and I’ll feel better in a few weeks. Each medical professional I saw were absolutely horrible. Not only did they not fix my problems, I felt like they were trying to keep me from getting better so that I had to keep going back and spending more money.

Then to top it off the billing department billed the wrong insurance company and I got hit with a bunch of bills for physical therapy. I called them to get the situation rectified and they assured me they would send all of the bills to my new insurance company and I would NOT be sent to collections while I waited for the new insurance company to pay the bills. I got a collections notice two weeks later. I called the billing department again and they told me they would put a note in my file and for me to check back. I never got an apology either time I called the billing department. I just got the same inpatient woman.

I am now seeking treatment with a new doctor and a new physical therapist elsewhere and am seeing steady improvement. I see a complete difference between the care I am receiving now and the care I was receiving at Rothman.

Every time I think about my time at Rothman I cringe and I feel sad that I wasted so much time. They have become too big for their own good. My father also had a terrible experience at another location. As I talk to more people about Rothman, I’m finding that nobody has had a good experience lately and we all feel the same way – They have become a greedy machine.
