This place is like ones they show in movies and scare you to death if you think you may be put there. They lock you up. What they show upfront to the public and what is behind the scenes is two different things. Upfront is nice, clean, modern with well adjusted people. In the back are the real patients.Patients walk around like zombies talking to themselves, banging heads, loudly singing, wearing diapers or paper scrubs. The staff doesn't care. They make you sleep on filthy floor or hard plastic sofas and chairs in a big room. They do not give proper medications and they lie. The main shrink treats you by getting list of scripts from your pharmacy then gives you some of them then says you were given all meds. They never contact your real doctor. Very sick patients are let out but ones who should not be there are kept because they have insurance or money. The others go when the benfits run out then come back later when taxpayer money kicks back in. Only about money. Scarey place!!!

My husband was at River Crest Hospital in the Spring of 2011. He has battled addiction for over 20 years. The staff at River Crest were very helpful and empathetic. We are a family again.

I would not recommend this place, staff is rude, do not attend to patients very well. I was misdiagnosed and given wrong meds and then they did not even have the correct meds on my chart. I also had a bad burn on my hand which I had to keep asking about to get it dressed. I was also pretty much kicked out but they woul not let me leave then.They said my insurance did not cover, which in fact they did. I was a voluntary sign in and then they would not let me leave. Was a nightmare to say the least. Also consider you will be in a lock down unit with not any privileges to speak of. In with people also that do not have the same medical problem that you may have. Enough said. my rating is a minus 10
