OMG Breakfast is the absolute best time. The food, the wait staff, and the casual settings. It was always a popular local place to dine, but recently the word is out. Stadium events for sports, concerts, marathon runs in the area are drawing many new customers, It use to be just the same old customer faces, now I feel like I am vacationing somewhere new. The two nearby hotels, have found out too, as the quests stream across the street from the Skyview Hotel @Penrose Ave and the Holiday Inn @10TH and Packer Ave. Prices are good, the food is fresh & tasty, the smiles and friendly staff make it a place like no other, a place feeling to me and my family all the comforts of HOME {and no one has to clean up the dishes} Great Place. Don't Miss it, even former President Clinton stopped by on his way to PHL Airport and ate a fine meal, that only an all American Diner can make!!!!

Good Food!

My husband and I eat here on occasion and we are always very satisfied with the food. Their belgian waffles and french toast are always delicious, but their french fries are what keep us coming back. No matter what we get, we've got to have some fries when we're there! I would have given them 5 stars, but the only drawback, in my experience, has been getting an unpleasant and/or scarce waitress from time to time. Though the food has always made any inconvenience worth it. Beware of the line on Sundays!

angry loyal customer

I went to penrose diner on 2-22-09. I received horrible service Bill Dovas-the manager and from the staff. The tried to make us pay for a order that we did not want. The way he spoke to me that day was degrading. I have been a customer for over 15 years and I was humiliatede at the way the manager spoke to me.

I called back later in the day to find out the owner of the restaurant and spoke to Bill Dovas again and when he found out it was me instead of trying to resolve the issues that I was having her hung up the phone on me.

I called the diner back again and spoke to one of the staff and explained to them the treatment I received from the manager and told her

Bad Fish

Went here for dinner with the family and ordered the cajun seafood special. One of the pieces of fish was a gray color, since I had not eaten a couple of the types of fish before, I did not know that it was not supposed to be gray in color, it means that the mahi mahi was spoiled. I looked up the different types of fish after I got sick and found out that the only one that gets gray was the mahi mahi so that must have been the culprit. It also smelled really fishy and my family could still smell fish on me when we were going home in the car. I would not recommend this place......and warn against the seafood.
