Wrongful Death
The legal malpractice allegations in Parkway stemmed from a 1996 wrongful death action in which the Margolis Edelstein firm represented Parkway. A $7 million verdict was entered against Parkway who, along with its insurer (Scottsdale Insurance Co.), subsequently claimed Margolis mishandled the defense. When suit was filed on behalf of Parkway against Margolis in August 2003, the complaint lacked a certificate of merit, Margolis obtained a judgment of non pros and the case was dismissed.

Business Disputes
Prior to joining the firm, Nicola represented a US-based Biotech firm in contract disputes with a European Union and U.S. based supplier. Nicola represented Receivers of insolvent Property and Casualty insurers and determined fiduciary standards for pursuit of financial institution’s culpability for aiding and abetting fraud allegations. Nicola’s practice was also national in scope while focusing on complex litigation including class actions, mass torts, toxic torts on behalf of consumers, railroad workers and those injured by OTC and prescription drugs.
Business Transactions
Mr. Lucas has over forty (40) years experience in all aspects of the shipping maritime/admiralty practice, and has represented and advised various marine entities in cargo shipping loss/contamination claims; collision, general average, salvage and personal injury/death matters; shipping/coast guard regulatory matters; environmental claims including oil pollution; NVOCC, Ocean and Surface Freight Forwarders in connection with international intermodal carriage of goods; pleasure/recreational craft casualties and commercial transactions/financing/litigation; ship sales, charter party, and repairs; ship finance, mortgage documentation including foreclosure and judicial sales; towage and pilotage.

Premises Liability
Mr. Johnston has defended liability claims involving a variety of products (cranes, elevators, industrial tools, consumer products and marine products), premises liability, dram shop liability, profession negligence (architects, insurance agents and brokers, travel agents and attorneys), securities brokers, and infringement of trademark and copyrights. He also has experience in analyzing insurance coverage for jewelers block policies, for advertising injury and for insurance company errors and omissions policies and has defended coverage claims in those areas in addition to employee dishonesty and fidelity claims. He has presented seminars on jewelers block coverage in both the London and domestic market.
Construction Litigation
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Farrington worked for several years as a litigation associate in a large regional law firm where he practiced professional liability defense, construction litigation, and general commercial litigation. He also defended automotive industry entities against consumer fraud claims and advised on regulatory business and contract matters.

Personal Injury
Priscila Jimenez was the passenger in the other vehicle and filed a personal injury lawsuit against Dixon, Policyholder, and the driver of the vehicle in which Jimenez was a passenger.
Medical Malpractice
Her areas of practice include casualty defense, professional liability defense, and commercial litigation. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Wilfong worked as an associate in the Philadelphia office of Eckert Seamans, where she practiced professional liability – medical malpractice defense.
