Aldo's uses canned tomatoes in their sauce and I can definitely taste it (GROSS!) There are several pizzerias who charge less yet make their sauce with FRESH tomatoes (and everything else) -- and WOW, you can really taste the difference! You people raving about Aldo's have no clue about what real pizza tastes like, pizza which exclusively has fresh ingredients. Almost all of Aldo's ingredients come out of a can, tub, freezer, or box.

Aldo's Pizzarama uses CANNED tomatoes in their sauce, and most of their other ingredients come from a can, box, or freezer. I have seriously tasted better frozen pizza. There are three AWESOME pizza joints in Fishtown who use only FRESH tomatoes and everything else, yet charge about the same prices despite having INFINITELY better tasting pizza.

The worst tasting pizza in Philly. All of the ingredients are low grade and come from a can. I used to be a chef, so I know something about food!

Aldo's pizza is no better than anyone else's even though it costs two to three times as much. In fact, it can be far worse, especially due the use of canned or expired toppings. Yuck!

The quality of Aldo's pizza varies dramatically. It is delicious on occasion, but frequently mediocre. I am sorry, but I just cannot recommend what often tastes like ketchup and cottage cheese on burned cardboard. Perhaps Aldo's should hire a new pizza chef?

I try Aldo's about once a year because they seem to constantly change their staff. Once back in the 90's a steak sandwich was good. Last December a pizza was decent. The other 25 or so times that I have tried them in the same number of years, I was disappointed. I do not understand why some people like Aldo's.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! The five-star reviews are all written by the owner. Aldo's Pizzarama has the worst food and service of any pizza parlor that I have ever been to.

I have been going to this place since the 90's and it still is the same amazing product. The guys who run the place are great and super friendly and always ask about my family and life. I like that. The Pizza is by far the best around and I drive 40 minutes just to get it now that I left the NE. It may cost a few dollars more for a pie but their is a reason, quality has never changed over the years, even my Dad who has been eating there since the 70's still thinks its the best!
