Heartbreak when my little poodle falls ill. That's my dude, my best friend. From the team to the main doctor I was thoroughly impressed. Courteous, professional, knowledgeable and they provided some medicine that already have our salt and pepper colored pup feeling better already.

It was a very bad experience. ...

It was a very bad experience. We wouldn't recommend this clinic! Our dog has allergies, so for the second or third time we brought our dog for an ant itch shot and medication. We had two bottles of medication left from our previous visit, so I brought them with me. After a shot and prescription that veterinarian Mansour gave us, we went to the front desk to check out and get more medication. When the front desk person gave us a new medication, I told her that we have the same medication from our previous visit, so we don't need the new one. When she looked at our medication, she told us it was the wrong one. It turned out that we were given two bottles of medication. The first one was antibiotics, the second one was anti itch medication, but the medication was labeled WRONG. The bottle with antibiotics label contained anti itch medication, and the bottle with anti itch medication contained antibiotics. So, we were given our dog antibiotics twice a week, and anti itch medication every five hours as it was labeled. Thank God our dog didn't get poisned, but can you imagine what kind of treatment she received?! You are supposed to give antibiotics every five hours, but it was messed up! When they looked at the chart, it wasn't even indicated that we were there, but we keep all the receipts in our file at home, so we could easily prove that we were there on that day.

Rest assure it was our last visit there. We decided not to file a lawsuit, but at least write a review here, so other people would know! We wouldn't go back or recommend this irresponsible practice to anyone. STAY AWAY.

My husband, my animals, and I all adore Dr. Mansour and his staff, I've been to many vets due to being such an animal lover and he is by far the best I've been to. I don't know if I could ever go to another one after or when he decides to retire. The place is truly a blessing to all animal lovers.

We have been going to Michigan Street Animal Hospital for the last 3 years (after being dissatisfied with Edgewater Animal Hospital) and have been so pleased with our choice to have Dr. Mansour as our Vet. He genuinely cares for my dogs and I have never felt cheated by him (like the last two Vets we found in Orlando who would make us buy all sorts of drugs for one thing or the other). They open earlier for people who did not make appointments and I later learned that this was also the time homeless people could bring their pets to get free help too. I don't know of any other clinic that does this. Thank you guys!

This vet is the most caring and down to earth vet I have ever met. I do not believe the other guys story about no sedation before euthanasia. I have had a couple of pets euthanized here, and the were always sedated first!!!!!!! I still have 4 dogs and Dr. Mansour is the only vet I want taking care of them. If you want excellent care at good prices... this is the vet for you.

Very Caring Vet

I was very happy with the Doctor's mannerism and the thoroughness of his explanation of our cat's problem and treatment. I have experienced numerous vets and can tell when someone actually cares for the animals... this is one of those vets.

My family and I have been going to this veterinarian for over 20 years now. This is not a clinic that will jab you with over priced diagnostic care or excessive costs to care and love for your pet. Great vet, nice staff and a doctor that really loves animals!!!

blotched euthanasia

st over two weeks ago, we decided that our beloved Australian Shepherd, Oche,

had such diminished quality of life due to a probable brain tumor, dementia,

severe arthritis, cataracts and loss of hearing, that we made the painful

decision to have him put to sleep. We made this decision and then scheduled the

appointment for the following week to give us time to prepare and to pamper him.

We envisioned a peaceful goodbye with him simply "falling to sleep" as we

comforted him in his final quiet moments. What actually happened was far

different and has left us with deep wounds that will forever haunt us. I don't

want anyone else to ever go through this pain, guilt and sense of betrayal. I

feel compelled to get the word out that many states, including Florida, DO NOT

require sedation prior to the euthanasia process. Our vet evidently does not

routinely sedate larger pets prior to the beginning of the procedure. This

simply did not occur to us that it would be any other way than peaceful.

Instead, Oche panicked at the sudden noise of the razor being turned on to shave

his front leg. My husband held him tightly, which further aggravated Oche

because of his extreme sensitivity from the arthritis. As the vet attempted to

insert the IV, Oche began yelping and howling, frantically trying to get away

and snapping and biting at my husband and me as we desperately tried to do what

we could to calm him. He tore the IV from his leg, which resulted in bleeding.

I will never forget the terror in his eyes as he looked to me for help I

couldn't give. Only then did the vet call for his assistant to sedate Oche.

Nearly instantly his eyes grew heavy, he calmed down, finally slept, and the IV

was readministered and the lethal dose injected.

Please read my petition, sign and pass it on. We MUST make euthanasia humane BY

LAW - for not only the pet, but for the family they leave behind.

We do not regret our decision that Oche's time had come as he had no quality of

life lately. We were ready. We thought we were prepared. But how could anyone

anticipate such inhumane treatment at a time that was so precious to us, so

sacred and so already painful. Euthanasia literally means "good death". Oche's

was violent for him and for us.

Thank you for taking the time to read and sign my petition - it may not be much

ammunition in my fight to change the wording of the Florida Statute, but at the

very least it will create awareness that pet owners must ask their vet about

sedation and request - no, DEMAND it prior to euthanasia.

Failed to sedate our pet before euthanasia. This was a planned euthanasia for a week to give us the time to have our goodbyes. We were at peace with our decision and were happy it would be peaceful for all. That is not how this story ends!!! Our pet's last minutes of life were horrifying, traumatic and stressful.

Doc is very loving of all animals. He really helped us out when our dog got a lump on his paw. He took extra special care and really explained all of the possibilities. Thankfully it was malignant and all is well. We've broguht several pets in for many years and will continue to recommend all of our friends and family!

I took my 5 month old kitten in and the office staff was amazing with her. The doctor was very in depth and sincere, he seemed very passionate about actually helping animals and doing his job. I will be taking both of my pets to this office regularly and suggest it to others.

I was recommended to Dr. Mansour by a co-worker who's gone to him for over 20 years. I absolutely love this doctor and his staff. Dr. Mansour is so caring and even called me at home to check-up on my "Baby" Buster. Buster has been treated for an ear condition and the doc always to takes the time to explain things thoroughly. He cares about the animals he treats. I commute 30 miles each way to have my dog treated there and this hopital is worth the trip. I've been to many other vets and it took me a while to find Dr. Mansour. Hopefully, you will consider taking your family members to Dr. Mansour and staff.

Overall
I was very impressed with Dr. Mansour and all of the staff at Michigan Street Animal Hospital!

I must start by saying that we just recently moved into the area and found Michigan Street Animal Hospital completely by luck and I am so glad we did. I brought my 8 year old Rat Terrier Mix and my 6 year old kitty cat in for their yearly exams and to update their shots. When we arrived we were greeted by a warm staff at the front desk, waited only about 5 mins and then were brought back to the exam room. The techs were gentle with my dog and cat who was more than a little apprehensive. When Dr. Mansour walked in he kindly greeted me and talked to me and Pixie (my dog) and Shadow (my cat) for quite sometime making us feel like we had been coming there forever. He said something to me that impressed me more than I could ever express, he said that he wanted to take it slow with them so that they would like him and that his office would be a comfortable place for them. I was so happy to find vet that actually cares about the animals he treats! He is also very reasonably priced. A+++++++++
