My father was in this facility for nine days. He was recovering from a broken hip. This is the second time he has broken his hip. The last time, he was in a different rehab facility so we have something to compare Life Care Center with.
I would not recommend Life Care Center at all. He was in better condition when he arrived than when we had him transferred to a different facility. I think the place is terrible under staffed. Twice he called me at home on his cell phone because he could get no response from the people there. I went there from my home & they still had not responded to him. Both times was in the middle of the afternoon. I had to search for someone. There was nobody on his hallway or at his nurse's station. He & his bed was cover in his own waste. They would get him up for about an hour for rehab & the rest of the time he was in his bed. There was one great attendant there named Marc. He seemed to care & take good care of my Dad. One guy the does the physical rehab. Tyler was also very good. The rest were terrible. I could go on & on. The rooms are very small. Very few things for the family like coffee, Juice, etc. There isn't enough space to explain all dislikes.
My Dad has been at the new facility for 3 days and there is an unbelievable improvement. My father even made the comment "if I had stayed in the other place for two more days, I don't know what would have happened to me." That's had much he disliked it. We are just happy to be away from there. Maybe some have had a better experience. No us.

LCCO is the cleanest facility around. The CNA's work very hard but they are only one person to sometimes ten residents at a time who each think that they are the only ones who need help. Sometimes there are several call lights at once but the staff can only do one thing at a time. I think they all do the best they can despite difficult circumstances and limited time.

Life Care on Rouse Rd. fails to provide acceptable attention to their patients. This a.m. my father was taken to the hospital because he fell out of bed after pressing his call button several times.Nurses and techs/aides are slow to answer these call bells--if they answer at all.My father is perfectly cognizant but needs these services for suffering TIA's (mini-strokes).So we need a good rehabilitation facility but, sadly, have yet to find one. LIfe Care was "rated high". We have been there when the inspectors have come. Those days, the care was superior, the staff plentiful. Other days, my father has had to lie in his own urine, sometimes on the floor, because no one would answer his "red" call bell. I have heard other patients' call bells ring continuously with no answer from the staff. I don't know if they are short-staffed or are apathetic to patient need.As soon as we find another facility, we will be moving him.

We have had several issues, but mainly there is little communication between the staff and family. I've had to drag every bit of information about how the facility operates, and how our mother is doing by asking many staff members and going to many different depts. Dr has yet to speak with us after 11 days, Male aids bathe female patients ?? clothing lost, not washed, food is tolerable, but no fresh fruit, O/T, P/T, & S/T is the best part of services provided. If your family goes in, visit often, speak up, work hard to get them out! Ask questions, staff is very friendly and tries to help at least.
