        In 2008 TEAM SKILLZ started with I GOT SKILLZ Basketball Clinics at various gyms in Maryland. Sensing the need for more focus on fundamentals and development, the coaches from Team Skillz formed a youth girls basketball team for 3rd and 4th grade girls. The team completed locally and achieved major success along the way. Today girls from that team play varsity high school basketball and are being recruited by major Division 1 programs. With the success of the girls program, the organization delved into youth boys basketball. We started with one 2nd grade boys team in 2012. By 2016, we fielded 4 boys teams ages 10u, 12u, 13u, and 16u and a Varsity level girls team! In 2017 our plan is to field 5 youth boys teams a various age divisions and 5 youth girls teams at various age divisions as well as an instructional league for new comers to the sportWHO WE ARETEAM SKILLZ is an organization whose core mission is to build character in young people through athletics. We look to provide young people with the opportunity to learn the fundamentals from basketball and apply life lessons that will shape them along the way. We never lose. We either WIN or We Learn!WHAT WE DOOur focus is on the enrichment and development of young people. We do this by teaching the fundamentals of basketball while also infusing life skills, leadership development, and improving the educational opportunities for young people ages 6 to 18. Through the participation in youth team sports, fitness clinics and workshops, young people in the TEAM SKILLZ programs are able to develop and learn from experienced coaches and leaders.
