When you get emergency care or are treated by an out-of-network provider at an in-network hospital or ambulatory surgical center, you are protected from balance billing. In these cases, you shouldn't be charged more than your plan's copayments, coinsurance and/or deductible.
Colonoscopy
Colonoscopy is the visual examination of the large intestine (colon) using a lighted, flexible fiber optic video endoscope. The colon begins in the right-lower abdomen looks like a big question mark as it moves up and around the abdomen, ending in the rectum.

Advances in endoscopic techniques have made it possible to do more gastroenterology procedures than ever before outside of hospitals in ambulatory centers such as ours.
Colon Cancer
Virtual colonoscopy is a wonderful new tool used to screen healthy adults for colon cancer. It is however unable to detect small polyps in the colon. Virtual colonoscopy requires the same type of laxative preparation as the one you are having. If a polyp is found during the virtual test, it must be removed with a colonoscope. If you or a member of your family has a history of colon polyps or cancer, or you are having certain symptoms, you are ineligible to have a virtual colonoscopy.
Endoscopy
Upper GI Endoscopy, sometimes called EGD (Esophagogastroduodenoscopy), is a visual examination of the upper intestinal tract using a lighted, flexible fiber optic video endoscope.

Mental Health
Qualifications for membership shall include licensure in the State of Florida, current and valid DEA license, training and experience relevant to the clinical privileges requested, Board Certification or eligibility, current and demonstrated professional competence, physical and mental health to exercise the privileges granted, similar clinical privileges at a local hospital or a sponsoring physician and compliance with the State of Florida laws concerning malpractice coverage.

Ultrasound
Alternative tests to the upper GI Endoscopy include a barium x-ray and ultrasound (sonogram) to study the organs in the upper abdomen. Study of the stools, blood and stomach acid can provide indirect information about a gastrointestinal condition. These exams, however, do not allow for a direct viewing of the esophagus, stomach and duodenum, removing of polyps or taking biopsies.
Radiology
When you get services from an in-network hospital or ambulatory surgical center, certain providers there may be out-of-network. In these cases, the most those providers can bill you is your plan's in-network cost-sharing amount. This applies to emergency medicine, anesthesia, pathology, radiology, laboratory, neonatology, assistant surgeon, hospitalist, or intensivist services. These providers can't balance bill you and may not ask you to give up your protections not to be balance billed.

Cosmetic Surgery
Patients who are not eligible to receive services paid for by insurance or other third party payment sources may be eligible to receive an uninsured discount from our facility. This discount does not apply for cosmetic surgery services as defined by our facility. The discount is a set percentage off of charges, subject to annual changes, and is similar to our center’s managed care discounts. Certain implants, drugs and high cost supplies may be separately discounted. At the time of service, patients will be asked to make payment in full. If a patient’s services are subsequently found to be covered by insurance or other third party payment source, the uninsured discount may be disallowed.

Lesions
Bleeding lesions - bleeding may occur form different points in the colon due to abnormally formed blood vessels, polyps, or diverticulitis.
