Overall

Dr. Schachter has been extremely helpful to me. I used to worry a lot, and now I don’t’.

I develop software and I work alone much of the time. I have a good life and am happily married to a great woman. I had seen a number of psychologists before, and each time I was disappointed. Often they were not as smart as I was, and I ended up just being frustrated,.

The problem I had was that I always worry. If something is going to happen, I only think of the worst ending. Recently the worry was getting in the way of my work.

When I first saw Dr. S. he asked a lot of questions. He immediately knew what I was talking about, and somehow he could put everything I was saying into perspective. He figured me out in the first session.

I had an anxiety disorder, and it was not that difficult to fix. He used Cognitive Therapy to teach me a different way to look at my anxious thoughts. I saw that a lot of the time whatever I was worried about never happened. So I changed the way I thought. It was really simple. He really helped me.

This guy is truly exeptional. ...

This guy is truly exeptional. He isn't like all the other therapists I have seen. He was smart. He understood what I was saying before Im finished saying it, and that was very refreshing compared to the others who would not have a clue what I was talking about.

I liked Dr. Schachter because he spoke English. He didn’t use any psychobabble, and after asking me what seemed like a million questions, he figured out what was going on in the first session, and he explained it to me simply. I had a form of social anxiety, and it was relatively easy to fix. He then explained his therapy to me. He uses Cognitive Therapy. He went on to show me a number of simple tools to help me identify the anxiety when it started occurring and then to look at it differently. He gave me assignments to act differently with certain people. This part felt a little uncomfortable, but it worked.

I haven’t felt those bad, anxious feelings for a long time now. He was truly exceptional.
