Philosophy Day School, founded in 1994, offers classical education, incorporating knowledge and approaches to life from Eastern and Western civilizations, to students in nursery through grade four. The school uses a formal system of address between students and teachers, and maintains a teacher to student ratio of one to eight. Philosophy Day School has a governing membership that elects the board of trustees. The board has four executive officers, including president, vice president, secretary and treasurer. Its graduates are accepted at various schools, including Loyola, the Nightingale-Bamford School, Packer Collegiate Institute, Stuyvesant High School, Trevor Day School, Trinity School, Xavier and Convent of the Sacred Heart. Philosophy Day School also provides financial assistance to eligible students, and is headquartered in New York City.
