I enjoy doing my own gardening...

I enjoy doing my own gardening, but needed help creating a cohesive design. Gardens by Susan Irving evaluated my property, listened to my ideas, and then created a landscape design that can be implemented in stages. Susan thought of solutions that would never have occurred to me, and her plant suggestions incorporated native species that are good habitats for the birds I love. Her design offered a practicable plan to achieve the environment I envisioned. Based on my experience, I highly recommend Susan as a creative and knowledgeable partner.

Susan really knows plants! I was impressed with her attention to detail and her eye for composition. So lucky to have found her and to have her work on my garden! Such a great experience, I would highly recommend this landscape designer.

Susan Irving is extraordinanry...

Susan Irving is extraordinanry. I lived on Deer Hill. Herds of deer 20-30 at times. We started with "foundation" adding a stone wall to delineate a perennial bed, stone steps leading up the hillside to a sitting grotto throne made of stone with stepping stones on the other side of the hill. She moved rocks for more interest as the landscape was on a hillside with rock. It was glorious with anti-deer flowers, flowering shrubs, all chosen for color, leaf and green interest, butterflies, and birds. There was early spring with white daffodils and muscari paths, crows feather for delicate pinks under the white dogwood with banks of peonies and iris for early interest. The mid summer was colorful and luxurious with plants chosen for beauty and drought tolerance. Fall was spectacular! She also put in a bank of grasses down a back hill which were beautiful in the wind and changing light and became almost weed proof. Susan Irving has a great artistic eye, is happy to work with the owner. Susan embraced me to work on my hands and knees along side of her being tutored as I worked. She has a fine team that does the heavy work that is needed to create a world of wonder for the changing seasons. I would recommend her absolutely. Call her to consult if you even think you may want a garden in your future. She works with the site, the style of your home, flower eating animals, the taste and vision of the owner, and will execute a heavenly garden. To consult, she can just walk you through your space to begin the thinking, planning and possibilities for your future garden. Susan Irving is an artist, a talented and gifted gardener, a landscape designer who "paints" with plants, trees, and rocks. Call her!
