Anita Albano, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Aquila Investment Management LLC, serves as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Aquila Investment Management LLC. Prior to joining Aquila in 2003, she worked with Weiser LLP, where she specialized in providing auditing, accounting and tax services to the financial services and broker dealer industries. They are bonds issued by the various states in our country and their political subdivisions, such as counties, cities, school districts, and local public authorities and agencies to finance various vital infrastructure needs. As an investment, municipal bonds are generally considered to provide the second highest degree of credit quality available – second only to U.S. Government obligations – due to the taxing or revenue raising power of municipal issuers. Interest on most municipal bonds is exempt, under present tax laws, from Federal income tax and generally from the income taxes of the states in which they are issued. However, a portion of the income from the Fund may be subject to Federal and state taxes, including the Alternative Minimum Tax, for certain investors.

Diana P. Herrmann, Chair, President and Chief Executive Officer, Has over 35 years’ experience in the financial services industry, over 30 of which have been with Aquila. She previously held a variety of positions with European American Bank, now part of Citibank. A graduate of Colby College and Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program, she is a Governor of the Investment Company Institute (the mutual fund industry trade organization) and a director of ICI Mutual Insurance Co., the captive insurance company for the mutual fund industry. She is active in charitable and volunteer organizations, particularly those with a focus on education and healthcare. She, therefore, takes great pride in the fact that the Aquila Group of Funds’ municipal bond funds have helped to finance and support needed infrastructure, including schools and hospitals, throughout each of the states in which the funds invest.

Lacy Herrmann (1929-2012) had been involved in all of Aquila’s and its predecessor companies’ operations since their inception in 1976. He was one of the earliest pioneers in money market funds and, subsequently, single-state tax-free municipal bond funds. In fact, Hawaiian Tax-Free Trust was the 32nd such fund in the nation at the time of its founding in 1985 ( the other 31 funds in existence at that time were primarily focused on large population states like New York and California; there are currently 365 such funds).

JOHN MCPEAKE is Co-Portfolio Manager for Aquila Opportunity Growth Fund. He has approximately 25 years of investment industry experience. Previously, he was a senior analyst at Rosenblatt Securities from March 2021 to September 2021 and prior to that held portfolio management and analyst roles with a focus on technology sector research and investing at 7Park Data, Foresters Investment Management Co., Devi Asset Management, and with Fred Alger Management. Mr. McPeake has a Bachelor of Arts in Geology from Hamilton College and an MBA in Finance from New York University, Stern School of Business.
