General Info

The Morehead City Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency that protects residents lives and their property and safeguards individual rights and community values. It supports the Crime Stoppers program, which is affiliated with the National Crime Stoppers Organization and provides opportunities for citizens to report illegal activities. The department maintains a citizens police academy that provides training programs related to laws, firearms instruction, defensive tactics, first aid, patrol procedures and investigations. It has a team of School Resource Officers that work to maintain a safe and secure environment in school campuses. The department is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). The Morehead City Police Department is located in Morehead City, N.C.
