        Moacir Schnapp, MD, is a neurologist and serves as medical director for Mays & Schnapp Neurospine and Pain. He is also an associate professor of medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. He grew up in Brazil where he graduated from the University of São Paulo and completed his post graduate medical school studies in neuropsychiatry. Dr. Schnapp came to Memphis to continue his education and completed a fellowship in pain management from the University of Tennessee. He has decades of experience treating patients with chronic pain and is a pioneer in the field of pain medicine. He believes a multidisciplinary approach combining interventional therapies, physical therapy, medication management and other therapies provide maximum benefit and pain relief. Dr. Schnapp treats patients with chronic pain, degenerative disc disease, fibromyalgia, herniated disk, neuropathy, peripheral neuropathy pinched nerve and spinal stenosis. He has presented at medical conferences both nationally and internationally.

        Dr. Schnapp & his staff ensure privacy and understanding while in the office. Everyone takes their time to really listen to your concerns. At end of visit everything is explained and done in a timely manner.

        Dr. Schnapps was awesome!!
        Words can not express the kindness that was shown to me by him. He had great bedside manners. He took the time to make sure I understood what my problem was and the medical help that was available for me. At the end of my visit I was overwhelmed with tears of joy just because he showed an interest and was a human being taking the time to appreciate me coming to his office.
        I must say he is a special physician!!!

        i’ve been with dr schnapp for over four years and he and his PA maria have gone out of their way to make sure i am receiving the absolute best care. they are both patient and kind and always ask me what they can do to make my life and pain easier. i have never met another dr and his team that has taken the time to make sure i get the absolute best care. i always leave feeling confident in my treatment and happy i’m in the best hands.
