Whole Foods Market

The Whole Foods on University Ave in Madison is nearly perfect. The cashiers and grocers are always very warm and friendly. There has never been a time when I have ever felt like I couldn't ask them for help. They also have a large staff so someone's always around to help you if you can't find something or you can't reach a package on the top of the shelf. They're always very knowledgeable. I have certain digestive issues and my doctor has encouraged me to change my diet. They were very helpful in showing which foods are gluten-free, lactose-free, and organic so I can eat healthy. They also helped me understand the difference between organic food and conventional food and how to identify organic produce by the number "9" at the beginning of the code.I would have never noticed little details like that without their help. And they genuinely seem like they care about their work. Organic food is a passion for them, not just a job. A lot of the cashiers and grocery workers are actually students currently studying fields like food security and sustainable agriculture. This fact obviously shows in the work they do. I was worried that Whole Foods might change and not be so warm and friendly after the Amazon buy-out but I still shop there and things are actually cheaper since I have prime. I can but a week's worth of groceries for under $200. The one flaw I can think of is that there's a lot of demand for their groceries so sometimes, you have to go shopping before rush hour to get what you need. But besides that, this Whole Foods is awesome. I give them five stars for their professionalism and service.

Called them many times to see if they carried a couple of items before I drove there from Monroe . It would have been nice if they woulld have answered their phone.

Great selection of healthy & organic food. Can't do my regular grocery shopping here, but it's a great place to find high quality food regular supermarkets don't carry.

A great place to find delicious organic food, as well as specialty items that regular grocery stores don't typically carry. Prices are correspondingly higher than an average grocery store, but you're paying for quality. They also have a great fresh food section and an AMAZING salad bar! The store does get very cramped and crowded though, especially at peak times, so it will be great when they move to the new Hilldale location!

Pricey, but I love the selection of natural beauty and body care items. The salad bar is great, but's too expensive for me.
