Glaucoma
Latisse was discovered in 2001 when pharmaceutical company Allergan was developing an eye drop to treat glaucoma. A side effect of these drops was that patients would develop noticeably fuller, darker, and thicker eyelashes, such that researchers had to take note of it. A clinical trial granted Latisse approval by the FDA for eyelash growth treatment.

Eye Exam
Thankfully I received a referral for Dr. David Samimi, MD, from another great (Family) Physician, Dr.Velinda Paranal MD. My main concerns were tiredness, trying to hold up my eyelids, using the eyebrow muscle. A first consultation with Dr. David Samimi MD, and his team, at Eyestetica in Santa Monica, resulted in my complete trust to allow the proposed upper, and lower eyelid, and eyebrow surgery be done by Dr. David Samimi MD. I had an excellent comprehensive eye exam, a follow up visit with eye specialist, and very personable Dr. David Samimi, and scheduled the surgery, which was done under local anaesticia at his Encino Office. Following the instructions of Dr. Samimi, already three days after the surgery, still on rest, and recovery schedule, at home, I already felt great relief, not having to use the eyebrow muscle to "pull up" the (also surgically reduced) eyelids. This is a fantastic improvement, to have a relaxed eye, and reading position, instead of using the eyebrow muscle all the time. This rather specialist surgery Iam sure, not to be mistaken by general plastic surgery, has been, in my opinion, therefore, a successful procedure (at just 7 days ago, as I am doing this review). My daily improvements still are remarkable, and on day 6, after the surgery, stitches, and staples were removed. An added great benefit, post surgery, is, that eyes are looking wider, open, and according to my Family, generally are looking as they remember me, in younger years. Continuing care, and follow up, by Dr. David Samimi, MD, and his team, deserve my very best I CARE REVIEW, for any one, who needs EYE CARE, now, or later, and we all do. Endocrinologist

Endocrinology
The most important factor in treating and controlling the changes of the eyes from thyroid disorders is good control of the underlying condition. This involves close care with an endocrinology specialist to monitor and control the thyroid function. The doctors at Eyesthetica communicate closely with other doctors to ensure complete care.
Thyroid
Thyroid eye disease is most commonly associated with Gravesâ€™ disease or an overactive thyroid, but can also be caused by other thyroid disorders. It is crucial for patients with TED to be seen by an oculofacial plastics specialists, as this disease can be difficult to diagnose and can cause considerable risk to your vision.

MRI
Bringing the completed packet, your insurance cards, a list of current medications, discs with pertinent CT or MRI imaging studies and any other relevant medical records will help minimize any delay on the day of your visit. We will collect office co-pays at the time of the visit, as well as any portion of your insurance deductible that has not been met. Cosmetic or non-insurance related visits usually have a consultation fee of $200, which will be used as credit towards any treatment.

General Surgery
Dr. Steven C. Dresner earned his M.D. from the University of Michigan Medical School. He completed an internship in general surgery at the University of California at San Francisco. He was a resident in ophthalmology at Louisiana State University in New Orleans.
Mohs Surgery
Each fellow will be learning the bread and butter clinic evaluation and surgery techniques in Oculofacial Surgery. The fellow will see and manage patients at LA County (LAC) + USC Medical Center under the guidance of the ASOPRS preceptors on a weekly basis. Here, the fellow will be actively involved in resident education. The remainder of the week will be with the preceptors from Eyesthetica, growing their surgical skills and gaining competence in pre- and post-operative patient management. The fellow will begin outside rotations during their first year and will spend time with our local ocularist group learning impression-fitting techniques and with Richard Bennett, MD, former President of Dermatology Surgery for Mohs surgery reconstruction techniques around the body, including flaps and grafts. The techniques learned have ready applications to the periorbital area and face. Other elective rotations include cosmetic dermatology and Facial Plastic Surgery.
Reconstructive Surgery
As such, the facial trauma specialists at Eyesthetica are all highly-trained members of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS), and certified plastic surgeons specializing in surgery around the eyelids and orbital injuries. We routinely care for trauma patients at California Hospital Medical Center, a high-volume Level II Trauma Center in Downtown Los Angeles, and can provide expert care in the event of an emergency.
