Overall
Good Food, Inconsistent Service

I'd agree with the other reviewers on the subject of the food. I haven't had a bad dish at Thai Pan; made to order, fresh, and delicious! I will add that we've had ups and downs related to service however. On one occasion the cash register didn't work and the staff had to run credit payments to the gas station register - which for some reason took an extra 10 minutes. On another occasion we seemed to wait quite a long time to get menus and then to order - and it wasn't especially busy. Hard to figure! In any case, worth a try for the food - and hopefully they're improving on customer service!

eat healthy, live healthry

Finding this little place was an accident but it is now our favorite local restaurant. It is actually located in the Liberty Gas Station building along with a Blimpie's sub shop right near downtown across from the Tuscarora Mill. We just moved to Leesburg and have eaten there 3 times in the last 2 weeks.

The food is very fresh and everything we've tried from the spring roll appetizers to the fried banana dessert has been very tasty. My husband loves the Drunken Noodles here, but don't order it Thai hot unless you want your whole head to go numb! The Tom Yum is really good as is the Pad Woonsen and the Sunny Tilapia with garlic sauce was fabulous. They don't have fountain sodas though (only bottles) if you care about that kind of thing.

The inside of the restaurant is very neatly decorated (especially considering it's in a gas station). Prices are very reasonable and portions are large. They also have a complete take-out menu and limited delivery though we haven't used that yet.

Overall
The best food in Town of Leesburg

I wasn't sure what to expect when I learned that Thai Royal was located inside the Liberty gas station on Harrison street in Leesburg. But the atmosphere was very nice. It has it's own entrance, but also has access from the gas station. The space is tastefully decorated, there are very pretty hardwood floors and about 12 twelve tables. You never really realize you're in a gas station. The waitress also told me they will soon began construction for a sun room, which will be nice.

I placed an order to go and while I was waiting a very nice waitress spent some time chatting with me. She seemed very friendly and very efficient with the one table she had. Everyone who works there seems very proud of the restaurant; which is a refreshing change.

Food was wonderful and packaged very well for the ride home. Calamari was tender and batter was tasty. Sauce was spicy and yummy. Bangkok dumplings (Kanom jeeb?) were very good. The chicken panang curry was rich and had a great kick. They're not afraid to use spice - which is a good thing. Pad thai with chicken and shrimp was also delicious. Prices are on par for well-prepared food in this area. I paid $44 for 3 appetizers and two large entrees.

This was my first visit, but I was very impressed. I'll be sure to try them again. They also offer delivery.

Overall
excelent'e

tasty, fresh, courteous food. though, they are located at gas station next to convienient store, but their service and food awesome. Tonight, 10/31/08 my family and I visited there, and were shocked how those guests were there in a small place. We felt like they were serving free food. After having dinner, we realized NO WONDER why they had that crowd there. Amazing but true, the best Thai food in Leesburg is found in a small restaurant attached to a gas station. The food at Thai Royal is almost without exception fresh and delicious, and this is not the usual Americanized Thai food with cloying and overwhelming sauces - this is the real deal! The dining room is small but comfortable and the staff is friendly and efficient, always willing to help out with a recommendation or suggestion.

My personal favorite is the Spicy Basil Fried Rice, perfect for lunch and spicy enough to make me sweat a little bit. Highly recommended!

BY THE WAY THEY ARE GOING TO CHANGE THEIR NAME FROM THAI ROYAL TO THAI PAN DUE TO ONE THAI ROYAL DRY CLEANER IN WINCHESTER THAT HAS WEBSITE THAIROYAL.COM
