Southwest High School is a coeducational institute that offers academic programs to students in grades nine through 12. The school, located in Jacksonville, N.C., provides a wide range of subjects to students, such as English, physical education, mathematics, computer technology, science, social studies, fine arts, economics, health and foreign languages. It provides a variety of electives, including marine biology, astronomy, environmental studies, material science, engineering and forensics. The school s athletic department offers a various sport activities, such as baseball, basketball, cheerleeding, cross country, football, golf, soccer, softball, wrestling, track and field and volleyball. Southwest High School provides college preparatory and advanced placement classes to students. It has a guidance and counseling department that provides a variety of services in areas of students-related problems, including academics, course selection, career and occupation awareness, testing and financial aid.
