Ascension School is a Roman Catholic, private parish school that works under the auspices of the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Established in 1929, it offers educational services to students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. The school has a team of guidance counselors who provide students with group and individual counseling services, as well as meet with students who experience the loss of parents and loved ones. Ascension School teaches oral language and reading readiness skills through songs, poems, finger plays, games, stories and computer-based programs. It maintains a library that provides a selection of reference books, archives, biographies, databases, encyclopedias, online dictionaries, newspapers and magazines.
