My experience with Lesco Appli...

My experience with Lesco Appliances LLC is detailed in the complaint that I filed with the Better Business Bureau.

Complaint # 1451814. Filed on : June 13 2012. Filed against :

Lesco Appliances LLC

1901 State St

Granite City IL 62040

On May 29, 2012 Home Warranty of America sent Lesco Appliance LLC to my home to repair my central AC system. The unit is covered by Home Warranty of America. Lesco inspected the system and stated that the AC unit outside could not be repaired and needed to be replaced (the new unit was covered by the Home Warranty of America). Lesco stated there was $1,542.29 in items/modifications that were not covered by the warranty. We gave Lesco my credit card to pay for the $100 deductible service call fee required by Home Warranty of America. We said we will consider their quotation. Home Warranty sent a second company to examine my AC unit and provide a second quote and second opinion. The second company said the outdoor unit did not need to be replaced. The system needed a coil replaced (which had a leak) and a freon recharge. The repair of the unit involved only $50 in non warranty charges. The second company said a new outdoor AC unit was not needed and that the non warranty charges quoted by Lesco were highly inflated. For instance, the second company said that a line item of $650 for duct modification should cost no more than $150. The second company repaired the AC unit with authorization from myself and Home Warranty of America. On June 7th, I discovered Lesco had charged my credit card $1542.29. Lesco charged my credit card $1542.29. Neither I or Home Warranty of America authorized Lesco to proceed with the repair. Home Warranty of America needed to authorize the covered charges and I needed to authorize the non-covered charges. I phoned Lesco and requested a refund on June 7th. The Lesco representative said the charge was a mistake and they would correct it. The representative also said he would phone back later in the day to confirm it was fixed. I did not hear back from Lesco that day. I subsequently left two messages (on separate days) with Lesco inquiring on the status of the refund. Lesco did not respond to those messages and are no longer returning my calls. My credit card company indicates the no credit has been issued to my credit card from Lesco as of June 13th. Hence, I am filing this complaint with the BBB.

bad business

Techincian name 'Bill' came in to see my not working right 3 door reach in refrigerator. He told me that compressor need to replaced and gave me estimation of $2000. I asked how much brand new cost. He answered brand new True 3door reach in will cost $15000. This company do not sell new appliances. What they trying here is get a business by telling me wrong info. I am not native english speaker and look pretty young. He probably thought I do not know about those appliances. And they will charge u $140/ hour on labor. Not too honest ppl.

I can safely say I will never use this company again. I wish I had researched them more before calling for a repair. They came out, charged me $139 for a part I have seen online for about $50. Tried to charge me a service charge even though their website says "Free service call with repair". Told me they don't take credit cards even though their website says, "Checks & all major credit cards accepted." I still feel like I was overcharged for the repair. Do your research on this company before you call them. Your findings will be enlightening.
