Overall

I walked in today 25 months natural with a healthy head of thick hair. This was my second ever visit to a salon since starting on my curly girl natural hair journey. I intended to get a wash, conditioning, and roller set. Pretty straight forward...huh? The young lady who washed my hair, aside from not speaking any English, washed my hair (not taking into consideration the fact that naturals sometimes need their ends held while their scalps and hair are washed) got my hair completely tangled in knots. Then she proceeded to comb out the knots, raking from the scalp up, which created even more tangles and snagged my hair causing me to loose literally 1/2 my hair. I asked her not to do this, but she couldn't understand me. Once washed, I was placed in a chair to have my hair roller set. She grabbed a towe and started rubbing. I stopped her and requested the manager translate that naturals shouldn't use towels on their hair. The manager put her hands on her hips and loudly told me they've been doing natural hair fora long time and she'd never heard that. She then shoved the young woman about to roller set me out of the way, and picked up the comb to roller set me herself. The problem was that she picked up the comb with teeth fine enough to snag out even the straightest of fine blonde Caucasian hair. I asked her to use a wider tooth comb. She huffed and puffed, but conceded. Instead, she grabbed a comb with just slightly more spacing between the teeth. Surprise. Another 1/4 of my hair was lost in that comb because they refuse to untangle starting at the ends of natural hair. My hair is now roller set. It feels uber thin and I fear I may have set myself back 2 years. Please go elsewhere if you are a natural with coily hair rather than wavy hair. P.S. I don't think they ever used conditioner.

I came in to get my hair straightened, and when it came to washing my hair a week later, my curl pattern was completely lost. They put too much heat i my hair but overall the style looked nice.

i visited that salon recently and they did suck of great job on my hair, i just love it, the salon is now under a new management, the stylist are excellent, they're very friendly. if you had a bad experience before it must be when it was manage by the lady name Jocy, but she is no longer there, you should really give it a try.

I visited the salon the other ...

I visited the salon the other day for the first time and was not pleased with the way one of the hairstylists approached me, I felt her tone of voice was very derogatory and intimidating. Even though my hair turned out o.k, I felt like I was misguided about the pricing and had to pay upfront. I was charged $70 and my hair was not even rollerset. I will not visit this salon again.

Yeah so I just left this salon...

Yeah so I just left this salon about 30 minutes ago in Glen Burnie and will NEVER go back EVER AGAIN. I have been to several other dominican hair salons and do realize that customer service isn't going to be a big thing you receive there but they SURE DON'T HAVE ANY RESPECT OR HOME TRAINING. To give a brief summary of what happened...I came in with no welcoming, greeting..they immediately started laughing and talking in Spanish. Several things I DID understand, and DID pick up on. I was disrespected through-out the whole time about my "natural hair" -- "the length" and they were thoroughly upset that I didn't understand what they were saying as they spoke to me in SPANISH. I said thank you to the lady that did my blow out, and do you know what she told me?!! -- "You're NOT WELCOME.." OHHH REALLY?! Well, honey you and your establishment will NEVER SEE ME, OR ANY OF MY FRIENDS, FAMILY, NEIGHBORS, ETC as long as I can help it. I don't live far from here but I rather drive AN HOUR AWAY before giving this RUDE ESTABLISHMENT my hard earned money. If you like being disrespected and don't care how people treat you - feel free to go in there. Ignorance, racism, and blatant disrespect are an UNDERSTATEMENT of this shop. If you could give NO STARS I damn sure would!!! Feel free to test the validity of my review by stepping foot in there!
