Established in 1951, Maryville Elementary School provides learning opportunities to more than 650 students in kindergarten through grade five. Its campus includes more than 25 regular, self-contained, special education and resource classrooms. The school s academic curriculum includes several subjects, such as language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, music and physical education. Its library stocks books by various authors, such as Eric Carle, Ian Falconer, Bill Martin, Ruby Bridges, Davis Shannon and Suzy Kline. The school allows parents, grandparents, local businessmen and agencies to participate in several school activities and programs that are offered throughout the year. It has a parent-teacher association that organizes various activities, such as parenting nights, harvest festival and special student programs. Maryville Elementary School is located in Georgetown, S.C., and is a part of the Georgetown County School District.
