Colorado's Ride The West RV Rentals, Inc.

I left my motorhome there for a year to be rented out. Communication was terrible. They wouldn't return phone calls or answer emails. The invoices were confusing and frequently wrong, for example they double billed me for one thing, and then when I complained (several times) they refunded it. Then about six months later they refunded it again. Clueless bookkeeping. I picked it up this week and it was very clean, but it had been winterized wrong and one sink handle was broken and several water pipes were broken.



I think renters get good service and good deals, but the owners aren't treated very well in my experience!

Owner Ron is one of the worst business owners I have ever met! His brother Wayne is supposed to be the manager but will support Ron even if he is completely wrong. We had a reservation for 4 months. The week we were supposed to pick-up an RV everything fell apart. Despite having the RV I was renting on the lot for 4 days they waited until the morning I was leaving to get the tires replaced. They identified the bad tires the day before my rental but no one called me to tell me about the problem. When I showed up at my scheduled pick-up time I was told I could wait at a nearby MCDonalds and they would call me. I decided to wait on the bench inside their store. I was told it would be ready in 30 min (3 times), I ended up waiting 90. When I told Ron I was getting frustrated he blew up. He kicked open the front door, pulled his own hair with both hands and while yelling profanity started shaking his hands over his head. He really crossed the line when he insulted my wife because she asked him not to act like this in front of our 6yr old! I have never seen a more unprofessional pair of business owners EVER! Ron and Wayne both threatened to cancel my reservation if I "didn't like it". Three other employees apologized for Ron and said "he gets in these moods sometimes" - So watch out! They wait till you are on the lot and have an entire trip pending so they can exploit that situation. They will treat you like you are a nuisance and get confrontational at the drop of a hat. I found myself putting up with their abuse only because I had a huge trip planned and canceling the trip would have impacted more than just my own family. Luckily they don't own the RV's and the RV we used worked just fine - thank you RV owners. We had a great trip but that was because we went somewhere great with great people - not because of "Ride the WORST RV Rentals". I read the rest of the reviews on Yelp and realized most of them reviewed the trip they went on and not the service these guys provided. When we returned the RV it was Sat and they were supposed to open at 9am - they didn't. Two other RV's waited with me and they finally opened at 1015. When Wayne pulled up he barked at the customer parked in front of the gate, "Get out of my way, I'm unlocking that gate! You need to drive back around so I can pull my car in!" When I was finally done with these guys I refused to shake Wayne's hand and told him this was the worst experience ever. Before I could get in my car to leave a little old lady approached me. She said I made her day with my comments because these guys treated her bad too. She explained how rude they were to her and how they also threatened to cancel her trip if she didn't like the downgraded RV they were trying to put her in. I would gladly pay more at another RV rental agency to get some decent customer service. I would have rated them lower but one star was the only option. Don't ever use this company!!! Ever, ever, ever, ever!!!
