Mel's Beauty Salon

Initially, I began going to Mel's Salon in 1975. I no longer reside in Detroit, but whenever I visit DTW, I arrange for hair services at Mel's Beauty Salon. The staff is wonderful.,,,,, very friendly, knowledgeable and personable.

Mel's has been a Detroit fixture for over 40 years. In the 70's Mels was located on 2nd and Lothrop across from Saks 5th ave. Mel was using the wrapping technique in the 70's giving the hair volume, body, and texture. Mel was known for coloring and cuts, she was light years ahead of her time. Still is.
