the $500 bond. I went to the county jail in Summit County, spent approximately 3 hours there, was booked and released and it cost me another $500. I called Attorney Mitchell later that day and let him know that he had done nothing beneficial for my case and that I questioned why I should continue to retain him as my lawyer if his advice was clearly bad and his behavior from the beginning unprofessional. His response was to deny the conversation we had the night before about how the conference was a trivial formality. I would have fired him right then but I had already signed a payment agreement months before and I believed he had the upper hand if I sought a refund for his “services”. I told him I wanted the case over with and that I was unable to continue dealing with his unprofessional behavior. Approximately a month later we had an appointment at the courthouse where I waited for Attorney Mitchell. Our conference was to start at 9am but he didn’t arrive until 10am, was very

only to find out that there was a warrant out for my arrest. Needless to say I was shocked and upset that no one had called me that morning to let me know that a warrant had been issued for my arrest. His secretary told me to “lay low”. I could not believe what was happening to me. I had paid a lot of money and followed my lawyer's advice and all it had gotten me up to this point was a lot of waiting and wasted time, a plagarized discovery packet, no consultation with any “investigator” and now another arrest. His secretary told me to call their bail bondsman. At this point I was very angry and upset and being told I was to use their bail bondsman made me feel that this was turning into a scam. I called the bail bondsman with the intention of obtaining information since my attorney was again too busy to speak to me. The bail bondsman was the most helpful in this entire process. He explained everything to me and told me I would be best off turning myself in in Summit County and

What Attorney Mitchell did do was continually push back conference dates and other steps in the process telling me that the discovery packet was not yet complete. After approximately 3 months of vacated court dates I told him that I had to get home to Massachusetts and was tired of waiting for this case to commence. When I would call and tell him I wanted to get it over with, he repeated over and over again the same rhetorical excuse that “The wheels of justice turn slowly”. There were also multiple occasions where I was scheduled to appear in conferences with the assistant D.A., drove the 2 hours down to the courthouse in Longmont, only to receive a message on my phone 30 minutes after the scheduled conference saying he had vacated the meeting that day and I did not need to appear. Needless to say, Gregg Mitchell wasted a lot of my time on multiple occasions and was never the least apologetic for not notifying me ahead of time.

I unfortunately was a client of Gregg Mitchell and I can tell you that from day one I regretted trying to work with this lawyer. I had been cited with a DUI in Boulder County after leaving a concert. I had a very low blood alcohol content and felt the police officer who stopped me abused his power and incorrectly entered information in the police report. I have little money so I was going to ask for a public defender, however, my family in Massachusetts and Colorado insisted that I hire a lawyer and they advanced me the money to hire Attorney Mitchell. When I called Attorney Mitchell's office, he was unavailable to speak to me but his secretary gladly took my money for a retainer over the phone. I waited for weeks with no call from Attorney Mitchell which I found completely unprofessional. When I finally again tried calling his office he was not available and never called back after I left many messages asking him to return my call.
