Kids Town

My sister used KidsTown for her children and had the worst experience. I had to come and rescue her children because the only payment my sister had was a personal check (the company did not have it posted anywhere that they did not accept checks). When the staff refused to take the check they than proceeded to hold the children hostage, not allowing them to even go out of the play area to wait with their mother and the staff threatened to call the police on my sister and have her arrested.
I would NEVER take my children to a place like this. When I showed up to make the payment with my credit card all of the children were hysterical and the staff were just standing around.

I have been taking my 2 sons to Kid's Town in Mayfair for 3 1/2 years now, my kids LOVE IT and so do I. It's convenient, the staff is wonderful, they know my children and I even when months have passed between our visits. It's consistently the same staff too which shows that the management/owner cares about finding and keeping good employees. The facilities are clean and safe but most importantly I know my children are well cared for which gives me peace of mind. Their rates are very reasonable and they're open until 9pm evenings during the week and later on Friday & Saturday nights!

We've received very good care at Kidstown in Mayfair. I've been surprised, actually, at how much my son loves to go there and play. I recently started putting him there for six hours a day, two days a week. Every day he does something new and different. Today they made Father's Day cards for their dads. Last week they made homemade ice cream for their snack. My son loves it and the staff is always nice and professional. I would recommend it to all of my friends, and I have.

This is the second Kidstown location I've taken my daughter to. While it is convenient, the Denver Mayfair location lacks what the other one has to offer. They never check me and my husbands I.D. before releasing her. And frequently the kids are sat down in front of a movie with the employees sitting around doing nothing. The smoky hill location was always diligent to check I.d even though they knew me by name, and hardly ever put on a movies besides for the afternoon quiet time.

I noticed the other review and had to comment. I was actually at that center when that woman arrived to pick up her kids. She was actually trying to write a check and the center didn't take checks. The staff was so friendly and kept making several helpful suggestions but the woman refused to do any of them. It was obvious she didn't have funds in the account and was trying to write a bad check. The staff remained calm even though the woman was screaming at her. She also flipped her the finger and stormed out of the center. Not once did she every ask to leave with her kids she was just arguing to get out of paying. When she returned she called the kids over and started crying telling them that "these people were going to take her to jail". I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Even though this woman was screaming up front the other staff had done a music activity to keep the kids entertained so they wouldn't see or hear what was happening. It was disgusting how this mother was manipulating the staff by using her children. The staff was great and kept the kids calm even though the mom kept cursing and saying horrible things. Finally, the mom's sister (I believe) came to pay and the woman cursed some more in front of her kids at the staff and left. It is such a shame that people like this exist and expose our children to their bad behavior. I was impressed with how well the staff shielded the kids and remained calm. My kids absolutely love this place and I would recommend it to anyone!
