Their quality of life and physical symptoms improve, and they are better able to adhere to their treatment and manage their illness and health.
Emergency Care
Our business hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. If you have an emergency, please call 911 or visit an Emergency Room. If you urgently need to connect with a physician after regular business hours, on weekends or on holidays, please call our answering service at (614) 383-6000. The answering service will immediately contact the physician on call.

The Palliative Care team at The Zangmeister Cancer Center is led by Jerry W. Mitchell, M.D. and Timothy D. Moore, M.D. Both Dr. Mitchell and Dr. Moore are board certified in internal medicine, medical oncology, hematology, and hospice and palliative care medicine.

But we work hand in hand with our patients from the very beginning, creating a tailored plan that addresses both their emotional and physical well-being during and after treatment.
Lung Cancer
ACR fully-accredited programs at The Zangmeister Cancer Center are: Low-Dose CT Scan Lung Cancer Screening, Computed Tomography (CT), Positron Emission Tomography (PET), and Nuclear Medicine (NM).

Mental Health
Helping with emotional and spiritual problems such as depression, anxiety and fear by providing counseling, recommending support groups, holding family meetings or making referrals to mental health professionals.

MRI
Diagnostic imaging involves visualization of abnormal masses using high tech machines that create images, such as x-rays, computed tomography (CT), positron emission test (PET), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and combined PET/CT.
Radiology
The Zangmeister Cancer Center is an accredited facility in Radiology and a designated Low-Dose Lung Cancer Screening Center by the American College of Radiology (ACR). To achieve this standard of accreditation, image quality, personnel qualifications, adequacy of facility equipment, quality control procedures and quality assurance programs are assessed through a rigorous review process. ACR accreditation signifies that The Zangmeister Cancer Center provides imaging services at the highest standards of the radiology profession.
X-Rays
Nuclear Medicine
Positron emission tomography (PET) is a nuclear medicine imaging technique that produces a three-dimensional image of functional processes in the body.
Computed Tomography
CT scans – sometimes called CAT scans – are noninvasive medical tests that help physicians diagnose and treat medical conditions. CT scans use special X-ray equipment and powerful computers to create cross-sectional pictures of the body. CT scans of bones, soft tissue, internal organs and blood vessels provide greater clarity and reveal more details than regular X-rays.
Chemotherapy
We believe our patients undergoing chemotherapy should have as much information as possible about their treatment so they understand why it’s necessary, how it works and what will happen. Patients who have been prescribed chemotherapy will meet with their doctor and a nurse practitioner or infusion nurse to learn about their treatment drugs, side effects and symptom management.
Radiation Therapy
Experienced billing specialists are available at The Zangmeister Cancer Center Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to answer any billing questions you may have. We also have pre-certification specialists available to answer questions regarding pre-authorizations for tests, scans, chemotherapy, radiation therapy and other services.
Radiation Oncology
Our medical services include medical oncology, gynecologic oncology, radiation oncology, chemotherapy and infusion, diagnostic imaging, genetic risk assessments, palliative care and clinical lab services.

Laparoscopy
The gynecologic oncologists at The Zangmeister Cancer Center specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of cancers of the female reproductive organs. Following a referral from another treating physician, our practice may provide consultation and management of complex benign gynecologic conditions as well. We are experienced in the use of surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy. In some cases, our physicians may choose laser treatments, laparoscopy or the minimally invasive da Vinci surgery as the most appropriate treatment protocol.
