        FACILITY In a large cottage style schoolhouse there are five warm and homey classrooms. Each is on the ground floor with its own entrance, toilet facility, and direct access to the playground. A separate cottage serves as a toddler classroom. Our outdoor environment includes barns and pens for our barnyard animals, a vegetable garden, flower gardens, bird feeding stations and easy access to the neighboring woods, trails, and ponds of the Closter Nature Center. Each class has two teachers with a class size averaging 18 students. Each lead teacher has either a Baccalaureate or a Masters in Education or a related field. All of the teachers continue their professional development through continuing education. We have a committed core of teachers that have been with the school for over ten years. We accept children from a toddler age of 2 up to pre-kindergarten. Currently we offer two pre-K classes, two classes of 3 year olds, a toddler class that begins in September as well as a toddler class that begins in January. Our open enrollment is based on a first come first served acceptance. The Lindgren Nursery School and Camp admits students of any race, color, nationality or ethnic origin. We offer morning, afternoon, or full day sessions for three, four or five days a week. The morning session is from 9: 15 to 11: 45 am. The afternoon session is from 1: 00 to 3: 30 pm. A full day session is 9: 15 to 3: 30. We also offer a lunch hour, before school care from 8: 00 am and after school care till 5: 30 pm. Childcare is also available at our facility during most school vacations.

        My daughter has gone to the school and summer camp and she absolutely loved it!! The children have the safety and help of a full, experienced staff, and the freedom to play and explore on their own if they want to. She loved the animals (ponies, goats, chickens) and she couldn't stop talking about it when she came home.

        I feel very comfortable with Lindgren. My daughter loves the school. It's a unique environment that really allows her to thrive: the old-fashioned farmhouse setting, the fabulous open air areas, the animals, all the freedom and room for creating are wonderful. I just wish she could stay here till college.

        I went there when i was 4. I loved it and grew up to be a successful lawyer. I went to bring my youngest there yesterday and everyday i have to pull her away from the playground, making it take at least 30 minutes to leave. This place trains children respect and how to be a child but still responsibilities.
