TFC Recycling

After years of doing business, both professionally and personally, I’ve finally run across a company to mistreat me (in this case the company that I manage) bad enough that I have to warn others.



TFC Recycling has a “guaranteed” pickup date that they offer to their customers. They won’t guarantee the time, but they will guarantee the date. The majority of time I’ve used there services I never filled my dumpster to the brim very often, but two day’s ago I knew that I would. Just to be sure I called over to make sure they were going to be there when they “guaranteed” they would be (a call that should not have to be made, but I’ve had my doubts about there timeliness in the past). “Yes, we will by there Wednesday afternoon for sure,” was the response I got. That worked for me, so I made the 2 hour trip to that shop, with hired help, to clean up the back yard on Thursday. To my concern, when I got there in the morning the dumpster was still full! I called and explained my situation to them, and they best they could do at first was get there at 4pm (23 hours after there “guarantee” had expired). After talking about customer satisfaction and what a guarantee means, I got permission to put the trash next to the dumpster for them to pick up (when ever they got around to it). I explained that it would be much easier to put the yard waste into the dumpster and that their drivers would not have it easy when the got there. TFC still would not bring a truck over to dump it (something about getting there routes of schedule, and making people miss there pickup, HA!, anyone else down from Richmond standing next to their dumpster waiting for it to dump?) When their drivers saw the debris the next day, we got a call saying that they could not dump it because it was construction type stuff. Did they mean the same construction type stuff that I’ve dumped countless times before in that very dumpster? YES! The point is that if I had the dumpster when it was guaranteed and filled it my self there would have been no problems at all. Well, I hope this frustrating tale helps you make an informed decision about your next potential company. Maybe there is another company out there that really stands by there guarantees.
