R. C. Edwards Middle School offers courses in language arts, physical education, art, social studies, science and math. It also conducts classes in keyboarding, French, Spanish, industrial arts and music. The school additionally provides special education classes for children with learning disabilities. Its media center offers an accelerated reading program that encourages students to read independently. R. C. Edwards Middle School has a guidance department that organizes mentoring classes and character education programs for students. The school also encourages participation in football and volleyball events. R. C. Edwards Middle School serves students in grades six through eight and is managed by the School District of Pickens County.
