Neurology
Dr. Duke-Sui completed his General Psychiatry Residency at the University of Florida where he treated children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. He saw patients in the inpatient setting at UF Shands Hospital and UF Health Psychiatric Hospital in addition to the outpatient setting at UF Health Springhill's multispecialty medical facility where he saw patients in the adult psychiatry clinic, adult neurodevelopmental disorder clinic, and child/adolescent psychiatry clinic. He also treated patients with co-existing anxiety, mood, and impulse control disorders with Parkinson’s Disease and other neurodegenerative disorders in the movement disorder clinic at the Norman Fixel Institute for Neurological Diseases. As part of the collaboration with the Neurology and Neurosurgery services at the Norman Fixel Institute for Neurological Diseases, Dr. Duke-Sui also provided psychiatric evaluations for deep-brain stimulation (DBS) procedure candidates. During General Psychiatry Residency, Dr. Duke-Sui provided inpatient diagnostic clarification and treatment for military veterans in the dual-diagnosis substance abuse and mental health unit at the Malcom Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida.
Autism
The rising prevalence rate of autism spectrum disorders (ASD) is alarming and has attracted the attention of the public and media. Many professionals in this area believe that the increased rate is due to 1) a broadening of the diagnosis to include milder forms of the disorder, and 2) an increase in professionals trained to accurately identify and diagnose ASD. Although increased awareness has resulted in more individuals with ASD receiving diagnoses and appropriate support services, it has also resulted in some irresponsible and inappropriate diagnosing by professionals who lack thorough understanding of this complex developmental disability. Clinicians at FPPA have extensive experience with the ASD population, and comprehensive diagnostic services are available for adults and children to assess for the presence of ASD and provide helpful and practical recommendations for intervention.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Children, adolescents, and adults are referred for psychological testing for a broad range of reasons. The types of tests administered are determined by the purpose of the referral. For example, children are sometimes referred for "psychological testing" when they are having trouble in school. In those cases, psychological testing usually involves testing for a learning disability, ADHD, and investigating other cognitive or emotional difficulties that might interfere with learning. The results of the evaluation will often be used to design an educational plan that is most appropriate for the child, including classroom placement and special accommodations/strategies that would improve school performance. An adult who has had chronic difficulty maintaining employment may seek psychological testing to determine whether there are deficits in organizational skills that interfere with good job performance. Results from the evaluation might be used for job placement. Better understanding of strengths and weaknesses may also inform treatment plans for behavioral and/or pharmacological interventions.
