Ritzy Rascals Pet Resort

I have taken my dog to Ritzy Rascals many times before, but after the experience I had with them taking care of my parents dogs and the way Barbara treated us, I WILL NEVER RETURN. Nor would I recommend them to anyone!



While dropping off the dogs, one of them climbed out of the pen, obviously giving my parents quite the scare and adding to the nervousness of leaving them in a kennel for the first time. I reassured them that things would be fine and we could call and check on them the next day to make sure they had settled in. After two phone calls and one message that went unreturned, my parents spent the rest of their vacation worried about their dogs.



Once the dogs were picked up and in the car, they noticed that one of them had dry feces ALL over her rear end. Once cleaned up she was red and raw and it had obviously been there for a while. Of course I apologized to my parents because I had recommended the place to them and felt awful that we had had such a bad experience with them.



So I wrote an email to Barbara explaining what had happened. The response I was looking for was an apology and sorry we overlooked that. What I got was defensive and rude and putting the blame on my parents and their dogs. Her appalling customer service aside, if it is common practice to let a dog stay covered in feces until they are picked up, I would hate to see what else they allow to happen. One of her many rude comments back was about not looking in that area, but when it's a white dog whose tail naturally curls over her back, it is not hard to notice the tennis ball sized circle of dried feces around her rear end!



What terrible way to treat a loyal customer of 3 years!
