General Info

Our postpartum doulas are fully trained through DONA International, and provide a service that is knowledgeable, experienced, compassionate and respectful. We visit a family and their new baby at home to help parents gain confidence in all aspects of baby care, tailoring our services to meet the individual family's needs. This may include breastfeeding education and support, instruction and assistance with infant care and soothing, and emotional support as the family adjusts to their changing circumstances. Your doula is there to be an encouraging mentor, answering questions and advising in a non-intrusive and non-judgmental manner. In helping the new mother recuperate from giving birth, as well as giving the family opportunities to bond, the doula may also help with light housekeeping, preparing light meals, running short errands, etc. Her goal is to work herself out of a job, leaving parents energized with knowledge and confidence.
