- The Children s Aid Society PINS is a program for youths suffering from various offenses, such as truancy, underage drinking and running away from home. It serves more than 2,500 families annually in the areas of substance abuse and mental health. The program is a part of The Children s Aid Society, which was founded in 1853 and is one of the nation s largest nonsectarian agencies. The agency serves more than 150,000 children and families of the New York City and offers a range of services, including housing assistance, domestic violence counseling and health care. It provides various after-school, weekend and holiday programs that include leadership and career development. The agency also specializes in medical and therapeutic foster care. It is a member of the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.
