The Cake Bin

Just last week I stumbled upon the Cake Bin bakery. This is my find of the decade...the aroma of fresh baked goods filled the air and my senses the moment I walked in, and the baked goods are as GREAT as they smelled!

I found the bakery to be completely "family style". The owner and baker, Giulio greeted me with a friendly hello peppered with his refreshing italian accent, and was most helpful in helping me decide what would be a compliment to our dinner plans.

I ordered cheese cake (by the pound and worth every penny), a box of assorted mini pastries, and two loaves of fresh italian bread (move over Arthur Avenue...best bread ever!!!). All these goodies were the highlight of our meal. Best of all, NO preservatives!

I, and my friends will DEFFINATELY be back.

This is the Italian bakery you remember as a child!! I've been a customer of this family since the 1980s when they were still in Newburgh. Pastry, cookies, cake, cannoli (filled to order), cheesecake~so many favorites. In this location, they have pizza, too! If you don't see something you like, ask! Guilio has a repertoire few modern day bakers have. No commercial bakery can duplicate the care they take in their product.
