declawing a cat is an inhumane, barbaric practice that causes trauma, stress and excruciating pain to the animal. Kuddos to those who recognize this as an unacceptable practice. There are reasons that more and more vets are refusing to perform this deplorable surgery.

Don't bother trying to adopt a cat here if you are considering declawing it. No exceptions! It's really too bad for the many cats that would otherwise be in happy homes instead of spending years in a shelter.

MHAA was rated the best place in the Hudson valley to adopt qa cat in 2007. It is a free range no-kill sanctuary to cats awaiting a home of their own. The staff is great and very caring for the animals..
