On October 30, 2015, I was making a quick trip from Houston to Dripping Springs for a dear friend's father's funeral then back home to Victoria. I left Houston at 5:30 a.m. and was travelling through Austin when a thunderstorm hit the area! It was about 8:30 a.m. and I pulled off of 35 and took refuge at a Whataburger. Before I could exit my car, the wind pushed it so hard, I started being scared! The assistant mgr let me in the door and then all power went out. I stayed at this store over 4 hours and missed the funeral. During the entire time Tim Moon (mgr) and his awesome staff took wonderful care of all the patrons. It was extremely scary and I was calling or messaging my family, just in case the situation worsened. The entire restaurant staff kept trying to assist any of the patrons in any way they could! The wind and rain got to be over 90 mph! I have videos of the happenings! And with all the power off and security systems in other buildings blaring, plus police and fire trucks sirens wailing. . . it was wonderful to have such caring staff at this Whataburger! I wanted to make this KNOWN to everyone associated with the Whataburger family--Tim Moon and the group at 801 E William Cannon #300 in Austin, TX are phenomenal! Rhonda_griffin@hughes.net

- General Info
- Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, “What a burger!” He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, “Whataburger.” Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.
