Crowns
Periodontal plastic surgery is a restorative dental care procedure that is utilized to correct the appearance or function of the gum line by removing gum tissue. Dr. Donna Klauser offers two types of periodontal plastic surgery: esthetic crown lengthening and functional crown lengthening.
Bridges
A dental implant provides several advantages over other tooth replacement options. In addition to looking and functioning like a natural tooth, a dental implant replaces teeth without sacrificing the structure of neighboring teeth. The other standard treatment for the loss of teeth-a tooth-supported fixed bridge-requires that adjacent teeth be ground down to support the cemented bridge.

Root Canal Treatment
Three unit bridges are a permanent, fixed solution for loose adult teeth that are comprised of three crown units. The center crown spans the space of the missing teeth while the end crowns anchor the dental bridge in place. The disadvantage of this method is that your healthy natural teeth on either side of the space must be ground down to accommodate the crowns, which puts you at higher risk for needing a root canal on these teeth in the future. Dental implants do not require any alteration to your healthy natural teeth – a more conservative option!

Gingivectomy and Gingivoplasty
A gingivectomy is usually performed when a patient has severe periodontal disease that cannot be cured with scaling and root planing or other periodontal procedures. Gingivectomies are performed to remove and reshape loose, diseased gum tissue and to reduce the depth of pockets between the teeth and gums.
Deep Cleaning
Receding gums are a common dental problem that occurs gradually, sometimes over a period of years and can be tough to spot early on. If you notice that your teeth appear longer or the spaces between them appear bigger at the base, you may want to contact a dentist for an evaluation. Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery

Oral Surgery
The first step to treating gum recession is to visit your dentist’s office. If your dentist notices that you are in the early stages of gum recession, treatment becomes much simpler. In the early stages, you can simply change some of your behaviors (like those previously mentioned in this article) in order to hopefully halt the process of recession. However, if your dentist determines that you are in the more advanced stages of gum recession, oral surgery is an effective option.
Flap Surgery
Osseous surgery, or flap surgery, is usually performed when a pocket around a tooth (or teeth) has not responded to other treatments. The procedure is performed in order to create a clean environment around the tooth so that the tooth can be retained rather than lost. Osseous surgery is generally tried only after other treatments have been explored and tried and usually is performed when the pocket depth has worsened over time.
Osseous Surgery
Before beginning the procedure, the area will be numbed using a local anesthesia. An incision is made in the gum tissue around the area that will be treated. The gum is then lifted away from the tooth and the underlying bone so that there is direct access to the area. The surface of the tooth is then thoroughly cleaned of any plaque buildup.
Tooth Extractions
There are circumstances in which you may need additional procedures before implants can be successfully placed. Each additional procedure will raise the final cost of having implant therapy. This includes sinus lifts, tooth extractions, bone grafts, gum grafts, and the treatment of existing periodontal disease.
Ridge Augmentation
Ridge augmentation is a common procedure performed to help recreate the natural contour of the gums. Often, after a tooth is removed, the bone in the jaw will begin to deteriorate and recede. The height and width of the socket, which was supported by the tooth, will begin to shrink after the tooth is removed. Many patients will eventually develop an indentation in the gums or jawbone where the tooth used to be.
Bone Grafting
Guided tissue bone regeneration does not always require the removal of bone from any other part of the body. Instead, many options use membrane barriers, tissue stimulating proteins, or bioactive growth factor gels. Occasionally bone grafting procedures are required; bone grafts can be from your own bone, tissue banks, or synthetic materials. The goal of each of these treatment options is to stimulate the body to grow new bone or to hold the space for the bone to regenerate into.
