- Dr. Afar is a UCLA trained dentist who was among the top 5% of graduating dental students in the nation, earning him the Dentist-Scientist Fellowship from the National Institutes of Health to continue his education and research in Periodontics and Implant Dentistry at the University of Washington. He is an active member of the American Dental Association (ADA), California Dental Association (CDA), and Western Dental Society. He is also a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and Associate Fellow of the American Society of Osseointegration. Highly skilled in all aspects of implant dentistry, and a former UCLA School of Dentistry Clinical Faculty and Research Associate, Dr. Afar is an internationally recognized expert and lecturer in the field of implantology.

Very good dental office with great dentist. They have emergency appointments too, which works great for me and my family.
When I learned I had gum disease and required periodontal treatment, I was extremely nervous. I heard the word disease and automatically thought the worst. Turns out, gum disease affects millions of people every year. This statistic made me feel a little bit better, but what truly set my heart at ease was the staff at Sunset Plaza Dental.
Dr. Afar treated my gum disease with attention and care. He explained my options and made sure I understood everything before proceeding with treatment. Root planing and scaling removed all the plaque built up around my gums. I will definitely continue to visit Sunset Plaza Dental for all my teeth needs.

I have been coming to Sunset Plaza Dental for nearly 9 years now and these dentists have transformed my decayed teeth into a work of art! Although going to the dentist is not my favorite thing, my experience at Sunset Plaza Dental and with Dr. Ghasri has been nothing but profound.
