        The goal of Pre-marital counseling is to help a couple ready themselves for the marriage. It is an investment in your relationship and future. We will explore the foundations of marriage, how each receive and give love, communication styles, strengths as a couple, how finances are managed, how to create balance with work and life, conflict resolution (including potential future conflicts) and living as one. There are many reasons individuals seek therapy. Grief and loss, depression, anxiety, dissatisfaction with life, feeling stuck, adjusting to lifes challenges, adjusting to lifes changes, relational difficulties, harmful self-talk, improving ones self-concept and personal growth, etc. Individual therapy is one on one and can be short term or longer if needed. Relationship counseling can be parent-child, couples counseling or family counseling. Improving communication skills, conflict resolution and exploring barriers to intimacy and trust are some key components to relationship counseling. The teen years can be hard for the teen and those who care for them. I know that the teen years are referred to by many as the good old days, but I remember being insecure, impulsive and hormonal. I provide a safe place for the teen to explore healthy ways to express feelings, improve communication skills, increase positive problem solving skills and improve relationships. I have counseled teens for much of my career and I am blessed by nurturing their growth.
