The department administers the Learn Not to Burn program for preschool and kindergarten students. It conducts Operation FireSAFE program for children between the ages of 4 and 15. The department also administers Remembering When and Storm Shelter Registry programs. It operates a fire prevention bureau that provides inspection, investigation and testing solutions, as well as determines the origin and cause of fires.
