A green, clean air salon in SoHo, Manhattan. Three stylists with many years experience working together at John Masters Organics before his salon closed decided to branch out on their own. After working in such a clean, non-toxic environment for so long, it was unthinkable to work in a conventional salon. All other salons offer many different chemical hair treatments in a closed space, so one can only imagine what fumes your eyes and lungs are exposed to for hours at a time. The organic movement has exploded in recent years due to people's realization of what the ingredients actually are in conventional food and skin/hair care products. So many people are changing over to non-toxic cleaning supplies and natural health products, it is only logical to move in the same direction when it comes to hair care. At SoHo Organics, clients recieve the safest and most natural ingredients possible in all of their services. While some salons are claiming to use organic hair color, the truth is that there is no such thing. Millions of dollars have been spent by major corporations trying to create a truly organic color, but it is impossible at this point in time. Some wil try to convince you that henna is a natural, safe choice. While the jury is still out on the actual health safety of henna, the fact is that henna never looks natural and long term use ruins the texture of hair. None of our products contain henna, and any experienced stylist will tell you that you cannot color over hair with henna in it until that hair has been cut off. Our hair color is the safest and gentlest on the market. That statement is easily proven starting with the first visit to our salon. You will see and feel it for yourself.

Our ammonia-free, herbal-based haircolor can be permanent, semi-permanent, or demi-permanent. Highlights are achieved with a white clay based powder and hydrogen peroxide. Haircuts for men and women are offered with aromatheraputic, certified organic shampoo and conditioner, and styling products. All of our heat styling tools are ionic. Enjoy a complementary selection of organic coffee, tea, and wine along with a peaceful, relaxing salon experience in beautiful SoHo.
