Established in 1975 Dharma East is a premiere yoga school in New York City. All levels of classes are offered seven days a week by Sri Dharma Mittra's certified senior level teachers. We also offer a children's yoga program, workshops, retreats, and community donation classes.

I'm from Barcelona (Spain) and...

I'm from Barcelona (Spain) and I have recently been in NYC for 2 weeks an took yoga classes with Sri Dharma Mittra and his teachers and I can say it was an amazing experience. In the physical aspect, it's a deep and complete class. Furthermore, Dharmaji always stresses the espiritual foundations that lay behind every yoga practice, and I think that is a basic teaching that helps me to be happier.

I wish I could take those classes every week!

Absolutely advisable.

Gift Certificates
Gift Certificates can be purchased for one or more practices at the listed rates. You may also give the gift of a Dharma Basics Course, a private or consultation, a practice or unlimited pass, a workshop, or shop items. Gift Certificates can be sent out via email, and be paid for via telephone or online by credit card. Gift certificates are valid for one year from the date of purchase.
Drop-in
sessions are available every day. Please note that the Dharma Kids Courses are by registration. Dharma Basics courses are also by registration, however drop-ins are by permission only if a student has already attended the 4-week program at that level, and cannot take the current session in its entirety.
Unlimited Passes
Unlimited Passes offer a great discount. They allow you to take as many drop-in practices on the schedule per day as you wish. This includes all 60-, 75- and 90-minute practices in Dharma Yoga.The Unlimited Pass does not include courses and programs such as Basics Courses, Kids Courses, Maha Sadhana, Posture Workshop or other special holiday practices or workshops. Unlimited passes are good for the purchaser only, non-refundable, non-transferable, not- extendable, and expire on the date established upon purchase.
Maha Sadhana
Maha Sadhana is a special three-hour program offered by Sri Dharma Mittra on the third Saturday of each month. This program incorporates all the main teachings and philosophy of Dharma Yoga. Registration is limited. Please register early using our web scheduler. If you are enrolled in a Maha Sadhana, re-scheduling for a future Maha Sadhana must be made 72 hours in advance, otherwise a $15 transfer fee will be charged.
Private Practices
Private Practices give an aspirant the opportunity to work one on one with an expert teacher. It may be on specific issues or postures, or a general practice and sequence. Privates are a great way to really get your practice going. You may ask for a particular teacher, or we will have one for you. These must be scheduled and paid for in advance. You may do so by calling 212.889.8160 ext. 301.
Private Consultations
Private Consultations are available by appointment with senior Dharma Yoga teachers to help students with personal issues and problems in life. Questions and discussions can be about your Yoga practice, blocks within it, diet, life changes, and spiritual practices. They are extremely helpful in directing and motivating you in daily practices that will keep you on a positive progressive course, using Dharma Yogic teachings.
