The Clark County Fire Department is a public safety agency. The department maintains a communication center that coordinates responses to fire, police and medical emergencies. It employs firefighters and prevention and investigation officers. The Clark County Fire Department offers emergency medical services, including basic-, intermediate- and advanced-level life support. The department provides technical, heavy, swift water and confined space rescue services. In addition, it offers fire prevention, public education, and disaster and emergency preparedness services. The department supports the Fire Explorers Program, which exposes young men and women to fire services. The Clark County Fire Department also administers canine accelerant detection teams and maintains a location in Las Vegas.
